Bob started his love of soccer in 1965 learning how to control the ball on asphalt playgrounds. In 1967 through 1969 as a youth player and referee he helped form and run a fall season soccer league in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Once his own family was started he got back to the game in 1985 as an assistant coach, head coach, all star coach and referee in the local AYSO league.
In 1987 through 2005 he trained and coached Club teams in the Coast and El Camino soccer leagues with boys and girls from U11 to U19 in the Bronze through the Premier brackets. During the 1995 season Bob was named Olympic Development Player coach for the Girls U-16 team taking them to the area play-off games, with two of the players going on to the Western United States Regional team.
At the end of the 1996 season Bob with a few other dedicated individuals formed and started Apex Soccer Club / League based on the Philosophy and Mission Statement as posted on this web site. With nine years past since the beginning of the club, Bob is an active part of the Apex Executive Board, working with the administrators, coaches and trainers for the "Players First" philosophy.
